Drawings Wanted for Bicycle Rack Designs

Flat, sunny and dry, Winnipeg is a wonderful place for bike riding. Get moving, then lock on to something great!

The Winnipeg Arts Council and the Downtown BIZ are calling on artists to submit designs for bicycle racks to be fabricated and installed on Broadway this summer.

Artists are asked to submit a line drawing that is graphically strong and feasible for development into functional bicycle racks. A jury will select up to three designs that will be used as a pattern for laser-cut steel bicycle racks. The creator of each selected design will receive $1500. The goal is to produce up to twelve bicycle racks for installation in July 2007.

Deadline for submission is May 28, 2007.
